Benito Nieves serves as the Interim Director and Associate Dean of Students for the Office of Student Conduct and Office of the Dean of Students. He oversees the Office of Student Conduct, which is the department that upholds and administers the UCLA Student Conduct Codes. The administrative reviews conducted by the Office of Student Conduct are designed to resolve allegations of misconduct by students and student groups. Student Conduct's mission is to assist students with exercising responsible, ethical, and appropriate choices, while supporting their intellectual growth and personal development.
Benito served higher education as a student affairs professional for over a decade before joining the UCLA community in 2023. He is intrinsically motivated to “do good work” in the student affairs field as a gratitude for the way higher education positively impacted him. He has proudly served student communities at Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, and other high-achieving educational institutions.
Benito is native to New Jersey, where he earned his Masters in College Student Affairs from Rutgers University and his Bachelor of Arts in Health Education and English Literature from Kean University.
