Antonio Sandoval Ayala serves as the Director of the Community Programs Office (CPO), a multifaceted department focusing on basic & essential needs, community service, academic success, leadership development efforts, external partnerships, and college preparation programs.
Antonio's experience includes serving as a city planner for the City of Anaheim, CA. He also serves on several campus task forces and committees aimed at building a strong student community, including chairing the Basic and Essential Needs committee and acting as president of the Latino Staff and Faculty Association at UCLA.
Antonio began his role as director in 2008. Since then, he has collaborated with students, colleagues, alumni, and community partners to expand programs and services that assist students from low-income and first-generation backgrounds.
Antonio is a double Bruin, having completed his undergraduate degrees in history and political science and his master’s in urban planning at UCLA. He is currently completing his doctoral work in higher education administration at Colorado State University.
