Alexandra Brown Senior Director, UCLA Student Alumni Programs & Family Engagement she, her, hers

Alexandra (Alex) Brown currently serves as the Senior Director for UCLA Student Alumni Programs & Family Engagement. In this role, her focus is to develop relationships and encourage lifelong engagement with the university and Alumni Association. She and her team enhance and support the experience of students, parents and families while at UCLA through inclusive opportunities that contribute to the vibrancy of campus life. Additionally, she leads work with the UCLA Alumni Board of Directors, empowering alumni leaders to advance the interests of UCLA and its nearly half-of-a-million living alumni.
Alex relocated to California from Upstate New York in 2010. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University at Buffalo, and a Master of Education in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs from the University of Southern California.
Joining UCLA in 2013, Alex has built nationally renowned programs offering a robust suite of resources, communications, and engagement opportunities for alumni, students, and their families. In addition to her work with UCLA’s parents and families, she has served as a national leader and advocate for parent and family engagement, contributing to industry knowledge via over 30 professional conference presentations, podcasts, webinars, and book publications, as well as volunteer leadership and Board roles in the professional organizations Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), NASPA, and AHEPPP: Family Engagement in Higher Education. Her work with external constituents and volunteer leaders has illustrated the positive impact alumni, parent, and family involvement has on student success in the university setting and she is grateful to lead in this space of connection and support.
