Good Luck on Final Exams
June 4, 2026

Dear Bruins:

As final exams approach, I want to take a moment to congratulate each of you on everything you have accomplished this year.

For some of you, this was your first year at UCLA. You found your place in a new community, navigated challenges, built friendships and grew in ways you may not have expected when you first arrived on campus.

Others changed majors, discovered new passions, studied abroad, completed research projects, secured internships, contributed through service and leadership, or reached personal milestones that deserve recognition and celebration.

And for our graduating Bruins, congratulations on reaching this incredible moment. Commencement is one of the most meaningful traditions at UCLA, and we are honored to celebrate alongside you, your families and your supporters. Student Affairs will be there cheering you on as you cross the stage and begin your next chapter.

As you prepare to move out, I also encourage you to participate in UCLA's 13th Annual Clothes Out, now through June 13 and the 3rd Annual Sustainable Bruin Move Out on June 11. Instead of discarding unwanted items, Bruins can donate clothing, household goods, electronics, and other reusable items to support local nonprofit organizations and reduce waste in our community.

Through partnerships with community organizations, including St. Joseph Center, Goodwill and the UCLA Thrift Shop, donated items will directly support individuals and families across Los Angeles while helping UCLA continue progressing toward its sustainability goals.

Whether you are graduating, returning in the fall, or heading into a summer of new experiences and opportunities, I hope you take time to reflect on everything you achieved this year and the impact you have made on our community.

Congratulations once again, good luck on finals and go Bruins!

Sincerely,

Monroe Gorden Jr.
Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
