Student Affairs Information Technology (SAIT) provides comprehensive IT services to Student Affairs, Enrollment Management and the Chancellor's Office. The services provided by SAIT include network and system administration, desktop support, business analysis, operations support, and application/website design and development. Examples of systems supported by SAIT include MyUCLA, Message Center, the Campus Degree Audit System, and Point and Click EHR system.

Arun joined UCLA in 2000 to work on student systems and led the development of UCLA's student portal and its successful rollout in 2002. He moved to the Registrar's Office in 2004 as the Associate Registrar for Systems, where he led the development of a new Student Record System that was successfully deployed in 2009. He became the founding director of SAIT in 2011 and assumed the role of CIO for Student Affairs in 2019.

Arun received his Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tulane University and his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington.
