WELCOME PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS
MESSAGE FROM THE VICE CHANCELLOR
Janina Montero
Vice Chancellor

UCLA is leading the way in higher education as a model of excellence for teaching, research and public service. The extraordinary talent of our students, faculty and staff is visible throughout the campus and makes ours a truly diverse and vibrant university community.
We at Student Affairs are devoted to—and expect great things from—our students. If you attend UCLA, we will want you to develop into culturally literate, involved citizens of your communities and of the world. We will want you to cultivate a life-long commitment to learning and education, striving for a rigorous, critical and comprehensive view of issues. We will want you to make personal, professional and community choices that respect and enhance your talents and aspirations. Student Affairs is here to help students accomplish all of these things.

Our department serves as an umbrella for innovative services and programs that reflect the diverse needs of many different groupings of students. Our goal is to promote the academic success of our students and to enhance the quality of campus life. We put our students first, by listening to their concerns and constantly questioning how each new program or initiative can serve the campus community even better.

Through our programs at Student Affairs, we encourage UCLA students to make the absolute best of all academic and broad educational offerings; to take advantage of the teaching, research and service mission of the University; and to have a campus experience that is both inspiring and challenging. As part of the UCLA family, you will remain forever connected to a university that gives you every opportunity to excel.

Thank you!
