WELCOME PARENTS/VISITORS
MESSAGE FROM THE VICE CHANCELLOR
Janina Montero
Vice Chancellor

At UCLA we are preparing our students for their futures beyond campus as leaders, scholars, doctors, caregivers, teachers, architects, engineers, designers, actors, writers, musicians. . . the list is endless, and—for our students—the sky’s the limit.

Our goal at Student Affairs is to promote the academic success of our students and to enhance the quality of campus life. We serve as an umbrella for innovative services and programs that reflect the diverse needs of many different groupings of students. We put our students first, by listening to their concerns and constantly questioning how each new program or initiative can serve the campus community even better.

We at Student Affairs are devoted to—and expect great things from—our students. We want them to develop into culturally literate, involved citizens of their communities and of the world. We want them to cultivate a life-long commitment to learning and education, striving for a rigorous, critical and comprehensive view of issues. We want them to make personal, professional and community choices that respect and enhance their talents and aspirations.

Student Affairs is here to help them accomplish all of these things. Through our wide range of programs and services, we encourage UCLA students to make the absolute best of all academic and broad educational offerings; to take advantage of the teaching, research and service mission of the University; and to have a campus experience that is both inspiring and challenging.

Finally, as our students take their experience into the world beyond the campus, we urge them to “give back” by staying connected to their UCLA family and supporting the programs which have meant so much to them.

Thank you!
