Chancellor Carnesale has strengthened his commitment to enhance support for the students and faculty at the heart of our academic enterprise by launching a new fund-raising initiative: Ensuring Academic Excellence. This initiative is designed to help us attract and retain top students and faculty amid increasing competition. Among its specific goals are 250 graduate fellowships and scholarships in the UCLA College, and 125 graduate fellowships and scholarships in UCLA’s professional schools. Since individual fellowships and scholarships frequently support multiple graduate students, the initiative will benefit far more students than the total number of fellowships and scholarships.
