The mission of Student Affairs is to support
the teaching, research, and public service functions of the
University by providing programs, services, and educational
experiences which promote the academic success of UCLA students
and enhance the quality of campus life. These programs and
services are geared toward supporting the mental, social,
and physical growth and development needs of our students
in a healthy, safe, and intellectually-challenging environment.
The Student Affairs organization participates
fully in University governance. The Vice Chancellor for Student
Affairs is a member of the Chancellor's Executive Committee
and a wide range of administrative committees, serves as Chief
Student Affairs Officer to the Chancellor and Executive Vice
Chancellor, and plays an active role with the Office of the
President in planning and policy-making activities. In addition,
the Assistant Vice Chancellor, Student Academic Services/Registrar
is a member of UCLA's Academic Senate. Many Student Affairs
administrators also serve on a variety of campus policy and
decision-making bodies. |
