Student
Development and Health is a division devoted to
health, wellness and education. These three components
are essential for maintaining the balance required to
succeed at a university of UCLA's caliber. "Health"
is the physical, emotional and spiritual state of being,
while "wellness" is the process of living
that maintains health. "Education" teaches
the student how to identify and maintain both the state
and the process in the pursuit of academic success.
The four Student Development and Health units (The Ashe
Center, Student Psychological Services, the Office for
Students with Disabilities and the Center for Women
and Men) orient their missions, goals and activities
to caring for and educating students so they may succeed.
