The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) offers counseling, advice, and support to UCLA international students, scholars, and their families.

International students and scholars receive assistance in areas which include interpreting immigration regulations, understanding employment options, and making cultural and personal adjustments to the campus and in the community.

Current legislation with respect to safeguarding U.S. national security interests has elevated the OISS responsibility to comprehensively interact with international students and scholars in order to insure their compliance with pertinent policies and regulations during their tenure at UCLA.
