The Dashew International Center
for Students & Scholars provides services and programs
for UCLA's more than 2,800 international students. This includes
a comprehensive orientation program, which provides entering
international students with the information, contacts, and
support they need to ease their entry into the University
and the community. In addition, services are provided for
all departments which employ non-citizen faculty or staff.
The Dashew International Center is housed
in Tom Bradley International Hall, which provides a venue
with opportunities for students to gain a better understanding
of the realities of multicultural Los Angeles. It offers students
a living laboratory for multicultural learning. Relevant new
programs include student visits with representatives from
community-based organizations, seminars and workshops on cultural
changes in an urban environment, and international student
volunteer referrals to community projects in conjunction with
divisional or University efforts. |
