In the Division
of Student Campus Life, our primary aim is
to maximize the quality of the experiences our students
encounter outside the classroom. We hold a student-centered
philosophy that sets effective, productive student contact
as the top priority and emphasizes teamwork and seamless
integration among our departments, as well as with other
areas of the campus.
We envision the activities in which
students become involved outside the hours of class
and study as a "living laboratory."
This is the portion of the educational experience in
which concepts and values are shaped and lecture hall
theory is transformed into working reality. To
facilitate this process, we work to develop a wide range
of co-curricular activities and opportunities; take
a lead in fostering a campus environment that is welcoming
to all students and respectful of individual differences;
work with the campus community in the maintenance of
a climate of intellectual expression and exchange that
is vigorous and open, yet recognizes the University's
need for orderly operation; and offer leadership training,
community service opportunities, advising in event planning,
and guidance in campus governance. We also offer
an unmatched range of activities that are simply a lot
of fun.
Through our
departments' websites, which you can visit by links
from this page, students, prospective students, and
parents can learn about the myriad of programs and services
that support academic success. You can find background
or contact information for over 700 student clubs and
organizations; take a tour of our on-campus residential
services; explore an extraordinary array of recreation
activities; discover the world of services for international
students; find out about legal services, resources for
LGBT students, and much more.
Welcome to the world of UCLA Student
& Campus Life!
