The Registrar's
Office has contact every term with each student, teaching
faculty member, academic department, college, school, and
division of the University. The services provided by the Office
create hundreds of thousands of individual contacts during
an academic year by mail, in person, by voice-response systems,
and by electronic media, especially the Internet. In addition
to academic units, the Office works with major administrative
units on campus, either as a provider or a user of services.
The client population of the Registrar's Office also includes
the court systems, Federal and State legislators, banks, business
firms, and all former students/alumni.
The Registrar's functions focus on classroom
scheduling, registration, enrollment in classes, collection
of grades, issuance of transcripts and diplomas, verification
of attendance, release of public information, and production
of official campus publications including the General Catalog
and quarterly Schedule of Classes. The Office operates as
the secretary to the faculty and as official record keeper
of the University. |
