As you have heard, the main focus of the PMP is to encourage and provide opportunities for staff development throughout the Student Affairs organization, by fostering a high achievement, rewarding and recognizing excellence, and recruiting and retaining the best and the brightest among staff. To involve staff directly in the development of this program, in the Fall of 2005, the Executive Management Group (EMG) formed the Performance Management Program (PMP) Task Force. The PMP Task Force is comprised of staff from the different Student Affairs divisions, representing different job classifications in the organization. The charge of the Task Force was to put in place a new employee evaluation system for Student Affairs that would:
- facilitate communication between employees and supervisors;
- encourage staff development;
- create an evaluation form that could be used throughout the organization; and
- develop an approach to recognize merit consistent with the employee’s performance evaluation.
I am very pleased to report that the PMP Task Force has completed the initial phase of their charge and that we are proceeding with the implementation of the PMP.
This website has been designed to assist you in your work with the PMP, as well as offer more information about the PMP and related programs. EMG and I are very grateful for the work of the Task Force; we are looking forward to this new direction for Student Affairs and invite your comments, questions, or suggestions regarding this important program through the “feedback” link offered below.
