Hugo Garcia, Office of Residential Life, retired in June, 2007.  As his colleagues in ORL reported, “The Office of Residential Life bids a fond farewell to Hugo Garcia, who served as Administrative Assistant for more than 19 years.  Hugo had also been a long term active member of the Student Affairs Staff Development Advisory Group and the Student Affairs Chorus.  He retired in June to spend more time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, while also cultivating his home gardens.” 

In fact, as a member of the Student Affairs Chorus, Hugo was the mastermind behind the technique of making audio tapes of the vocal parts (alto, tenor, bass) of songs selected by the Chorus.  This allowed the group to practice their parts individually so that our members could learn our selections in four-part harmony.  Beyond all expectations, it worked!
