Career Center’s Internship and Study Abroad Program
Celebrates 40th Year

by Cian Mitsunaga, UCLA Alum

This spring, the UCLA Career Center Internship and Study Abroad Program celebrated its 40th Anniversary with an event hosted by the UCLA Internship Alumni Network. Students, friends and alumni gathered at UCLA’s Grand Horizon Ballroom to celebrate and recognize those who have thrived through these programs as well as those who have contributed to their success. Among those recognized that evening were Councilwoman Wendy Greuel, Tom Lehrich (Chief Counsel, US Department of Transportation), John Kobara (President, Big Brothers/Big Sisters), Congressman Brad Sherman, Consul General Yoshio Nomoto of Japan, and Theresa Luong (Department of Transportation). Dario Bravo, Manager of the Internship and Study Abroad Program, was also recognized for his 20 years of outstanding service and contributions to the program’s growth.

Through the decades, the Internship and Study Abroad Program has been instrumental in enhancing the UCLA learning experience and in maintaining relations with various employers and learning institutions outside of UCLA. Most of those in attendance at the celebration have benefited from the enrichment of an internship or study abroad experience.
