Charles Healy is a Professor Emeritus of Education. He is in the first year of a two-year term. He holds a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Columbia University and a BS. from Fordham University. From 1967 to 1969 he was a lieutenant and captain in the Army Adjutant General Corps. In the last 10 years before he retired, Charlie supervised the student affairs field internships, taught courses in career development and counseling and student affairs, and coordinated the Student Affairs Program in the Department of Education. His research focused on career Interventions, career development theory with emphases on the proactive self-concept and its evolution over our life stages, and assessments used in career interventions. He enjoys swimming, bicycling, theater, attending lectures on mental illness and the social sciences, and facilitating a free job support group helping out-of-work adults secure suitable work.
